All the walks are along the coast of King Island, so the terrain is relatively flat. There may be some short and sharp inclines. Surfaces will include sandy and pebbly beaches, bush tracks through low vegetation, and some rocky sections.

We can provide you with a good day pack, waterproof coats, walking poles and gaiters. King Island’s weather conditions can change rapidly so carrying a waterproof coat is essential.

To avoid snake bites, we require all members of the group to wear gaiters.

We are more than happy if you bring your own pack, walking waterproof coat and/or gaiters, but please remember we can provide these for you.

Some of the walks involve steep unformed tracks. For these walks we will provide all walkers with walking poles.

Please wear clothes suitable for walking outside, including sturdy footwear. Make sure you have worn this footwear on extended walks before.

Please bring along a hat, snacks, any necessary medications, and a full drink bottle.

You will personally need to carry a day pack with the following items:

• Full drink bottle
• Waterproof coat
• Any necessary medication
• Lunch
• Snacks

Note, we can provide you with the day pack and waterproof coat.

Be ready for all seasons!

It is not uncommon to encounter windy conditions with rain squalls.
Walks may be relocated to the other side of the island if conditions are really unpleasant.

If there is a high chance of severe hail or electrical storms walks may be cancelled or postponed.

If there is a high chance of severe electrical storms, or if there is a bushwalkers weather alert in place for the area, walks may be cancelled or postponed. In these circumstances, you may opt for a refund or to book another walk at a later date. See the refund policy FAQ for more details.

Absolutely! Please let us know about your dietary requirements when booking the tour and we will do our best to cater for you.

Snacks and lunch packs are provided by local caterer Amy from Salt & Thyme.

These wholesome, delicious and nutritious meals are thoughtfully prepared, using locally sourced ingredients when available, to provide adequate energy for your walking tour of our beautiful Island home.

Not all walks are suitable for children. Please give us a call to discuss the suitability of a walk for your child. For a child under the age of 18 to join a walk, we require them to be accompanied by a responsible adult and for a parent/carer to provide their consent. Another option is to arrange for a bespoke family walk.

To enjoy the walks, we suggest that people are reasonably fit and active and comfortable walking for a prolonged period of time while carrying a day pack.

Please refer to the track classification, anticipated duration and walk descriptions to gain a better understand of the fitness requirements. If you are unsure, please give us a call.

Note, we can create shorter, bespoke walks upon request.

Due to the nature of the terrain and the activity, it may not be possible to cater for everyone’s special needs. Please contact us to discuss your situation and we will do our best to offer you an enjoyable experience.
